To whomever this may concern
Our names are Nola Grace Gaardmand and Timothy Ahrensbach, and we are currently making a short documentary for DANIDA (the Danish International Development Agency) on Filipinos who work as au pairs in Denmark. The documentary is aimed at informing the general public in Denmark about Filipinos, as to prevent stereotyping and malignant prejudice of au pairs.
We are therefore looking for Filipinos who would be interested in talking about why they wanted to live and work abroad and show the Danish viewers what their life in the Philippines is like. We will of course compensate you for any lost work, travel- or hospitality-expenses you might have in relations to our presence.
We would like to spend a day with you here in Denmark, where we would interview you and basically just follow you around doing whatever you normally do, while the children are at school and your host-family is at work. (of course after getting permission from your host-family) In other words, they wouldn't have to be in the film themselves.
Then, when you land in the Philippines, we would like to follow you back to your home and film your reunion with your family.
We will be in the Philippines from July 1 - July 18 2010 to film your family reunion, and we would obviously then need to visit you in your Danish home anytime before that.
You are by the way welcome to speak whatever language you are most comfortable with, as we will make sure to have a translator present if needed.
Please check out the websites below for more information about us and our projects, and feel free to add us on facebook.
We look forward to hearing from you via email, text or on the phone!
Best Regards,
Nola Grace Gaardmand and Timothy Karl Ahrensbach
